Senators make a move to bring in veteran free agent and fans are NOT happy
What about Shane Pinto?
HockeyFeed
This just in, the Ottawa Senators have signed 33 year old veteran forward Josh Bailey to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
Check it out:
Bailey, of course, was traded from the New York Islanders to the Chicago Blackhawks this offseason and subsequently had his contract bought out by the Blackhawks, making him a free agent for the first time in his career.
Bailey has played the entirety of his NHL career with the Islanders, putting up 184 goals and 580 points in 1057 regular season games. He put up just eight goals and 25 points in 64 games with the Islanders last season.
There's nothing inherently wrong with the Sens bringing Bailey into training camp but... what about Shane Pinto? The RFA forward is reportedly no where near coming to an agreement with the Sens and Bailey appears to be in the running as Pinto's replacement. Stay tuned.
