Senators may lose yet another defenseman for game 3.

Uh oh.

The Ottawa Senators barely eked out a win tonight to even their series with the Boston Bruins, but it came at a cost. Already dealing with a banged up Erik Karlsson and Marc Methot on the back end, it looks like the team will now lose defenseman Mark Borowiecki as well.

The veteran defenseman tried to lay a big hit on Bruins forward Riley Nash but instead ended up going hard into the side boards and injured his leg or knee in the process. It was a nasty looking injury, but the team hasn’t released details to the public just yet.

In 70 games with the Sens this season, the 27 year-old blue liner has put up 3 points and 154 penalty minutes. Those aren’t flashy numbers by any means but if he’s in fact out long term, the Sens will miss his physical presence on defence.
