Late in the first period of tonight's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning and we've got entertainment on and off the ice at Scotiabank Arena in downtown Toronto!
It all started with Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev laying an absolutely brutal head shot on Leafs forward Mitch Marner, costing Marner a clear cut breakaway and earning Sergachev a penalty for targeting the head.
Here's the play and the hit in question:
And here's another angle that clearly shows the shoulder to head contact from Sergachev on Marner:
To me, that's a blatant head shot that should earn Sergachev a call from NHL Player Safety, regardless of the fact that he received a call on the ice. But don't worry, Leafs fans... buddy here in the button up shirt is ready to drop the gloves with Sergachev in defense of Marner.

Take a seat and have another Molson, you clown.
If there were no glass between you and Sergachev you'd be pissing those nicely pressed jeans of yours, buddy.
Having said that, it's at least nice to see someone standing up for the Leafs' players. Marner was laying face down on the ice after a potentially very dangerous head shot and it takes Scott from Scarborough here to get a reaction. Ah... life as a Leafs fan...
