After a last-minute Olympic call-up, Jarvis’ Winnipeg buddies are scrambling to get overseas, and get a huge assist
If there’s one thing hockey fans learned during the 4 Nations Face-Off, it’s that Seth Jarvis has the most dedicated friend group in the sport.
Now, they might be gearing up for an even bigger adventure.
After Hockey Canada announced that Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brayden Point would miss the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, Jarvis received the call to join Team Canada as his replacement. The late addition sent shockwaves through the hockey world and apparently through a group chat in Winnipeg.
You may remember Jarvis’ now-famous crew of childhood friends who drove 30 straight hours from Winnipeg to Boston last February after repeated flight delays threatened to derail their plans to see him play at the 4 Nations tournament. When flying failed, they piled into a vehicle and drove straight to Boston. They later made another trek during Carolina’s playoff series against New Jersey, with help from the NHL to get them there.
Now, with Jarvis in Milan, reporters asked the forward if history would repeat itself.
“They’re trying to figure it out,” Jarvis told reporters. “It’s a tough trek for them, but if they can find a way, they’ll make it out here.”
The story has already caught attention again: Air Canada reached out on social media offering to cover the friends’ flights to Italy. We might see the famous buddies in the stands for Team Canada’s journey at the Olympics, which starts tomorrow with the preliminary game vs. Czechia.

From a 30-hour road trip to crossing the Atlantic, Jarvis’ biggest fans look to be getting ready to cheer on Team Canada from the stands in Milan!
