“Several” teams reportedly looking to sign two-time Stanley Cup Champion.

There were reports that two-time Stanley Cup Champion Kris Versteeg would be returning to the National Hockey League earlier this week, and now it appears we have confirmation of that fact.

According to a report from TSN insider Darren Dreger the are now several National Hockey League teams interested in learning what exactly Versteeg has left to give, and while he many not immediately find himself a new contract there are a number of professional tryout offers already on the table.

It's an interesting turn of events for Versteeg, and one has to ask how motivated he truly is to play in North America considering he had made the decision to leave the NHL, choosing instead to sign a contract with Bern of the Swiss League.

It's like something that is also on the mind of NHL organizations, and it's for that reason that we expect whatever offer Versteeg accepts, it will be a tryout rather than an immediate contract signing. Versteeg will be back in North America tomorrow, and we will likely have a better idea where he could land at that time.

More to come.
