The deal is done and it's 1 for 1.
A trade that has been rumored for months now has finally become a reality.
On Sunday night, National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman reported that Seattle Kraken forward Shane Wright was on the verge of being dealt to what sounds like the Nashville Predators. That's because Friedman reported that Predators forward Matthew Wood is also believed to be a part of this upcoming trade deal.
Update: The Trade is now official and it is a 1 for 1 trade.
Both men are former first round draft selections but Wright has the better pedigree as the former 4th overall selection at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Wright is also the more established player with 183 career NHL games in which he scored 39 goals and 43 assists for a total of 82 career points.
Wood on the other hand was selected 15th overall at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators and has since accumulated 91 games in the NHL with 18 goals and 16 assists for 34 career points.
