The San Jose Sharks dodged a bullet at the end of the first period.

The Sharks were caught with six men on the ice, it was blatantly obvious, and the broadcast crew immediately called attention to it, but somehow the National Hockey League officials on the ice, all of them Finals veterans, missed the call.

It's a huge break for the Sharks, especially when you consider they are already down a game in the series, and are currently tied heading in to the first intermission, and it also unfortunately paints the officials in a bid of a bad light.

Mistakes happen, but this was a big one in the Final.
