In case you missed it earlier today the New Jersey Devils traded goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 6th round pick.
The 26 year old Blackwood was once considered to be the future in goal for the Devils, but fell behind on the depth chart this past season. He was surpassed by Vitek Vanecek and Akira Schmid this season, leading to speculation that he wouldn't even be qualified ahead of the opening of free agency.
He played just 22 games for the Devils last season, putting up a .893 save percentage and a 3.20 goals against average.
The Sharks weren't done there though, they ended up making another deal on the day acquiring veteran defenseman Andre Sustr from the Anaheim Ducks for Andrew Aggozino.
The 32 year old Sustr put up 14 points in 51 games with the Ducks' AHL affiliate San Diego Gulls last season.
