There are several names swirling around in trade talks throughout the NHL recently - and we can now add three more names to that list.

Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey reports that the San Jose Sharks are shopping three of their players - hoping to open up some roster and cap space.

The players in question are defenseman Paul Martin as well as forwards Chris Tierney and Mikkel Boedker.

Martin has had a successful career, entering the scene way back in 2003, after being drafted in 2000. He has since collected 318 points in 858 games. He figured to be a key component of both the New Jersey Devils and the Pittsburgh Penguins for many years before coming to San Jose. He is currently on injured reserve.

Boedker is an 8th overall pick back in 2008, and had a few successful seasons production-wise with the Coyotes. He signed on with the Sharks last season but wasn't the player the team had hoped he could be.

Meanwhile, Tierney is a former second round pick by the Sharks and known for his two-way play. He doesn't put up big numbers but he can be relied upon to kill penalties when needed.

Boedker and Martin both carry substantial cap hits, with Boedker taking $4 million through 2019-20 and Martin taking $4.85 million through 2018-19. Conversely, Tierney only makes $735,000 and is set to be a restricted free agent this summer.
