Sheldon Keefe's fate with Maple Leafs apparently decided
There will be a new man on the Leafs bench before too long.

The Toronto Maple Leafs lost a valuable member of their coaching staff this offseason, as assistant Spencer Carbery departed town to become the new head coach of the Washington Capitals; that position was vacated after the termination of Pater Laviolette.
And one of the first orders of business for new Leafs general manager Brad Treliving along with head coach Sheldon Keefe is to begin interviews with potential candidates to replace Carbery. According to NHL analyst Darren Dreger, interviews are underway.
Additionally, Dreger reports that contract extension talks between Treliving and Keefe are expected to take place later this summer.
There appeared to be a bit of uncertainty surrounding Keefe's future with the Maple Leafs under Treliving, who didn't exactly give an ironclad commitment to Keefe staying on long term during his introductory press conference. But for those who are wondering whether or not Keefe will get the chance to build on this spring's postseason victory, the first by the team in 19 years, it looks as though he'll get the chance to do it again next season.
