Shesterkin just isn't looking like himself lately. Thoughts, Rangers fans?
In case you missed it earlier tonight, the New York Rangers dropped a 5-3 decision to the New Jersey Devils and... well... they didn't look good in doing so.
It's not exactly a secret that reigning Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin has had a tough go of things lately, but frankly I was shocked when I heard mocking "IGOR! IGOR!" chants at Madison Square Garden after the Russian netminder let in his fourth goal of the game:
Yikes...
That's rough, but not nearly as rough as the stone cold analysis that Shesterkin gave himself following the game.
Check it out:
"Goalie played shit game again. I feel so bad and play so bad. I'm ashamed. Every goal is easy play for me. I have to stop those. If our team wants to win the game, I have to play better."
Igor Shesterkin
Ouch... those sound like the words of a broken man. Hopefully he can find his mojo again because as Igor goes, so too do the Rangers.
