According to a report from NHL insider Frank Seravalli the NHLPA is parting ways with long-time executive Mathieu Schneider. Seravalli reports that the move was initiated by new NHLPA boss Marty Walsh.

From Seravalli:

Schneider has been involved with the NHLPA since retiring from the NHL back in 2010 and has steadily worked his way up the organization to become the second in command. With Donald Fehr, the NHLPA's former boss, now out of the picture though it sounds like Schneider is no longer needed and/or welcome. Walsh, who was entrusted to replace Fehr by the NHLPA's rank and file, is evidently making changes to the organization's executive staff.

More to come.
