Shocking Leafs’ roster shakeup for do-or-die Game 6!

Fans are wondering what’s Craig Berube thinking? More below:

The Toronto Maple Leafs cannot fumble this one like they did in Game 5 of their second round series against the Panthers. Now back in Florida, the Panthers, with their 3-2 series lead, will look to eliminate the Leafs, and surprisingly enough, head coach Craig Berube has once again shaken up the roster and has fans wondering about one specific move.

Why remove Nick Robertson from the lineup when he’s the only one who scored in the 6-1 blowout loss in Game 5?

Per Jonas Siegel and David Alter amongst reporters present at the skate, it looks like Pontus Holmberg and Calle Järnkrok are both returning to the Leafs lineup in Game 6.

This is the Leafs’ projected lineup for Game 6 later tonight:

Knies-Matthews-Marner
Holmberg-Tavares-Nylander
McMann-Domi-Pacioretty
Lorentz-Laughton-Jarnkrok

Extra: Robertson, Kampf

Rielly-Carlo
McCabe-Tanev
Benoit-OEL
Hakanpaa-Myers

Woll
Murray
Hildeby

As you can see, Berube is not splitting Matthews and Matthews, commenting per TSN's Mark Masters:

“These guys have been a combo for a long time, and they’ve had a lot of success. So, I trust them. I believe in them.”

Goalie Joseph Woll, who was replaced by Matt Murray in the third period of Game 5 after getting pulled, is the projected starter for tonight with the chance to redeem himself.

The Panthers can advance to their third straight Eastern Conference Final with a victory Friday night.
