No one knows for sure what exactly is going on between veteran center Kyle Turris and the Nashville Predators, but it now seems abundantly clear that the two parties are headed for a split.

The big news coming out of Nashville of course has been the serious injury to veteran forward Viktor Arvidsson and although that is very bad news for the Predators many expected that this would open the door of opportunity for Turris but in fact it appears to have done the opposite. The decision made today by head coach Peter Laviolette now appears to have signaled an end to Turris time as a member of the Predators organization and now many suspect that a trade will be imminent.

Predators insider Adam Vingan wrote this in his column today prior to any lineup decisions being announced:

Sometimes it seems as if Laviolette just doesn’t like Turris, and what Laviolette chooses to do with the lineup in response to the Arvidsson news will reveal his true feelings.

Well the lineup has now been announced and in spite of the fact that there is a gaping hole in the lineup where Arvidsson should be, Kyle Turris has once again been made a healthy scratch by his head coach. Joe Rexrode of The Athletic Nashville believes that this is an indication that the differences between Turris and Laviolette have now reached a point of no return.

"No Kyle Turris again," wrote Rexrode. "This appears to be a case of irreconcilable coach-player differences. That happens, but every player doesn't make $6 million."

Vingan and Rexrode are far from alone however and some personalities in and around the team believe the situation is one that can not be solved internally. Kristopher Martel of Fox Sports Tennessee made it crystal clear that he believes the only solution now is for the Predators to find a way to ship Turris out of Nashville and to another team in the National Hockey League.

"I can only assume that something has to be in the works for Kyle Turris to be on his way out from Nashville," wrote Martel. "One can only hope this is rectified soon rather than seeing this extremely petty squabble drag on."

"How embarrassing."

It seems Kyle Turris is now destined for a trade out of Nashville, and it sounds like it will be coming sooner rather than later.
