The situation in Milan is not looking good only weeks out from the Olympic games.
For many weeks now there have been major concerns around the situation in Milan, Italy, the city that will play host to the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
One of the premier events at the games will be the best on best men's hockey tournament with the return of players from the National Hockey League to an Olympic event for the first time in over a decade. However there have been major concerns surrounding the quality of the arena and the ice within that arena, with those concerns extending dangerously close to the start of the event.
On Monday morning, National Hockey League insider Chris Johnston revealed just how insane the situation truly is when he shared a video of the current state of the Olympic locker rooms on social media. In the video we can see that the locker rooms appear as though construction has barely even begun, with only some drywall and the skeleton of what should be an Olympic locker room currently visible.
Here is a look at the video:
Johnston also shared video of the current state of the practice rink, with Johnston revealing that the ice isn't even ready to be skated on with the event only weeks away at the time of this writing.
Although the exterior of the stadium does look beautiful, the area surrounding the venue is still in a sorry state given all the still ongoing construction.
This will be a race to finish as far as construction is concerned, and I can certainly appreciate the concerns around this event after seeing this video evidence.
