Sid Seixeiro mocks Maple Leafs fans on Sunday.

Sid Seixeiro gives one part of the Maple Leafs fan base a piece of his mind.

I think it's pretty safe to say that former sports talk radio host turned television personality, Sid Seixeiro, is hoping that we have seen the last of Mitch Marner in a Toronto Maple Leafs uniform.

While you could attempt to paint the Maple Leafs season in a positive light, the team did win the Atlantic Division title and pushed the defending Stanley Cup champions all the way to 7 games, the reality is that the Maple Leafs season ended with yet another disaster.

While it's true that they took the Florida Panthers all the way to 7 games, it is also a fact that the Maple Leafs collapsed in back to back home games and were blown out by a combined score of 12-2 over those two games. The fashion in which they lost finally made it clear to those that had kept believing in this core of Maple Leafs that it was time for change, that was at least until the Eastern Conference Final rolled around.

After seeing the Florida Panthers thoroughly dominate the Carolina Hurricanes through the first 3 games of the series, some Maple Leafs fans have started to change their tune arguing that the manner in which the Panthers are stomping the Hurricanes puts the Maple Leafs in a more positive light. It is that group of fans that Seixeiro went out of his way to call out over the weekend, trying to verbally give their heads a shake as he voiced his frustration.

"A lot of Maple Leafs fans re-evaluating the core after watching Eastern Conference Final. I agree," said Seixeiro sarcastically. "Best way to compete with Florida, who’s loaded with team friendly deals and plenty of grit, is to give Marner 14 million a year and bring back Tavares."

The former sports talk radio host went so far as to mock those who are genuinely still putting their faith in this Maple Leafs core.

"Yep. Airtight argument," he mocked.

Should the Maple Leafs fan base be viewing their team differently in light of Florida's domination in the Eastern Conference Final? Or do you agree with Seixeiro's comments over the weekend? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
