Sidney Crosby accused of playing dirty in Penguins’ home opener!
A frustrated Crosby made some poor decisions in his team’s first game of the 2024-25 season.
The New York Rangers were laying a beating on the Penguins in Pittsburgh for the home opener of the 2024-25 season. Leading 4-0 after two periods, the Rangers have had no mercy and Pens captain Sidney Crosby had had enough.
With New York scoring thanks to four different players in a disastrous start to the new campaign by the Penguins, a frustrated Crosby made the poor decision to cross-check Rangers star forward Mika Zibanejad, leading to a Rangers’ power-play.
Of course, fans were saying how Crosby was whining and complaining from the penalty box, but they also accused him on playing dirty when he was previously caught chirping and taking a shot, swinging his stick, at Rangers rookie Victor Mancini, who was not afraid to talk back to the Penguins’ star. The two had got tangled up in front of New York’s net moments earlier.
This is clearly not the start to the 2024-25 season the Penguins and their captain were hoping for. Tristan Jarry has looked terrible in between the pipes and fans are not only calling out Crosby for his attitude, but also wondering if he regrets extending in Pittsburgh before the campaign started…
