Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby probably wasn't expecting to get choked up during his post-game interview on Sunday, but that's exactly what happened thanks to a surprise appearance form one of Crosby's former coaches.

Crosby and the Penguins picked up a hard fought victory over intrastate rivals the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday and following the game, Crosby appeared on the TNT broadcast for a brief interview with the TNT panel. Included on that panel was former Penguins assistant coach Tony Granato and it was when Granato spoke to Crosby that the Penguins captain began to show his emotions.

"Thanks Sid," began Granato on Sunday. "We've been discussing all along how important and how well you represent our game, and as always after a tough game like this and be smiling, wear your Penguins hat on forward with pride, just thanks for being Sid that's all I gotta say."

It was the praise from Granato that seemed to cause Crosby to choke up, and he could barely get his next words out through the emotion in his voice.

"Thanks Tony," said Crosby while clearing his throat.

A beautiful moment between two great competitors, and it was all caught on video.
