People who are fans of Sidney Crosby certainly are diehards, and Crosby knows this.

According to The Chronicle Herald, the Pittsburgh Penguins' captain showed up unannounced at a fan's house in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to sign a jersey for him. Darryl Lingley-Pottie had placed a plywood sign - complete with a hanging Crosby jersey - outside their home for a week in Enfield, Nova Scotia, with the message: "SID PLEASE SIGN MY JERSEY."

The Conn Smythe Trophy and Stanley Cup winner was unable to get to their house earlier this summer, but managed to remember which house it was despite the sign now being removed. Crosby went and rang the doorbell, much to the elation of the entire Lingley-Pottie family.

"I was just shocked," Lingley-Pottie said. "I was just so full of joy.

"He remembered."

Crosby stayed at the Pottie household for 20 minutes, taking pictures and signing a second jersey just for the family, as well.

What an awesome gesture from a guy who has probably had a jam packed summer thus far.
