Crosby on how wasted he got at Mackinnon's Stanley Cup party.

Crosby tells all.

After the Colorado Avalanche were crowned the National Hockey League's 2022 Stanley Cup Champions earlier this year, Avalanche star forward Nathan MacKinnon laid down the gauntlet for his long time friend and fellow Cole Harbour native, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, by effectively challenging him to get really, really, wasted at his Stanley Cup celebration.

"I’ve been the drunkest guy at two of his, so he better be the drunkest guy at mine," said MacKinnon when speaking of his friend and his upcoming Stanley Cup party.

By this point on the calendar players like Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon are already well into their preparation for the upcoming season and that party has already come and and gone. Thankfully though part of those preseason preparations include a number of media availabilities to get fan interest going again, and recently the captain of the Penguins was asked about whether or not he had lived up to MacKinnon's challenge.

MacKinnon himself had claimed that while Crosby wasn't the most drunk, he had made it into the top 10. But, after learning that MacKinnon had only ranked him in the top 10, Crosby balked and told what sounded like a completely different version of what transpired that night.

"Top 10?" asked Crosby incredulously on the 32 Thoughts podcast.

"I'd say at least top 5," he added with a laugh. "At least. I mean he left 2 hours before I did. I think I shutdown the outhouse that night so I mean what else can I do? I mean what does he want from me?"

It definitely sounds like the Penguins captain got his money's worth on the night, and given the genuine laughter from Crosby when retelling the story I can only imagine how much better the unfiltered version would be. As for MacKinnon leaving 2 hours earlier, it sounds like the Avalanche star forward will have to either win another Stanley Cup, or hope that Crosby and the Penguins can do so, if he wants another rematch during a Stanley Cup part in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia.
