The dynamic Pittsburgh Penguins trio of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang have been together now for 16 years and have enjoyed tremendous success with one another. They'll forever be icons on the Pittsburgh sports scene for helping to deliver three Stanley Cup championships to the city, including back to back titles in 2016 and 2017.

And they just got a huge boost in their lineup as new GM Kyle Dubas attempts to maximize their remaining time with the franchise, acquiring reigning Norris Trophy winning defenseman Erik Karlsson from the San Jose Sharks in a blockbuster 3-team deal.

Crosby himself is showing no signs of slowing down despite having lost the nickname "Sid the Kid" long ago, racking up 93 points in all 82 games played this season. And he recently revealed an equipment secret that may have some readers immediately plugging their noses.

According to Crosby, he's worn the same jockstrap since high school - and it's needed to be stitched back together several times.

Crosby isn't the only hockey player to stick with a certain piece of equipment for his entire hockey career. His former teammate in goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has worn the same Itech-branded throat guard for over two decades now, while former sniper Brendan Shanahan wore the exact same shoulder pads (if you could call them that) for a full 21 NHL seasons.

Whatever keeps these players ticking, right?
