Sidney Crosby’s young fan unsettles Pens’ top prospect Brayden Yager

Adorable and cringy. Great mix!

Pittsburgh Penguins top prospect Brayden Yager, who was selected in the first round of the NHL Draft last summer, was made available to meet with young fans earlier this week at DICK’s Sporting Goods House Sport. However, he was stunned to be approached by a young fan who could only talk about one thing : meeting captain Sidney Crosby.

The Penguins shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, a video of the poor kid attempting to get an autograph by Crosby, who was not present at the event.

Yager, who appeared a bit unsettled by the demand and the need to please, kindly informed the young boy that the superstar was not there. However, that did not stop the young fan from praising Crosby, calling him the best player in the world. Yager could only agree with him.

The boy went on to ask Yager to sign Crosby’s name, which the prospect kindly declined, explaining that it would not be right. The whole awkward but cute conversation was caught on tape, with Yager feeling the pressure to please the fan without doing anything to ruin his experience.

While the meeting was probably awkward for Yager, he handled it so well.

Now, I feel like the Penguins need to find a way to get Crosby to meet this young fan, who was willing to have Yager write the captain’s name on his stick to make his day.

I am sure with today’s social media, there is a way to make it happen. Let’s share the article and get the Penguins working on a meeting with this persistant young fan and Crosby. And why not have Yager there as well!
