Sidney Crosby savagely taunts Jake Guentzel post game.

After a disappointing start to the National Hockey League regular season on Thursday night, an ugly 4-2 loss at the hands of a Chicago Blackhawks team that does not have high expectations for this season, the Pittsburgh Penguins were back in action on Friday night after they renewed their fierce rivalry with the Washington Capitals.

The Penguins fared much better in this one and you could even call it a statement game from the Penguins who blanked their rivals in a dominant 4-0 performance that saw goaltender Tristan Jarry record a flawless 19 save performance. The big win over such an important rival clearly had a positive impact on the mood of the team as well as the players appeared to very much be in a joking mood following the game.

On the receiving end of some of those jokes was Penguins veteran forward Jake Guentzel who was rather savagely taunted by his captain for his post game ritual, one that apparently includes eating a pair of meals after every NHL hockey game. Guentzel was walking through the locker room with his post game meal when his captain, NHL star Sidney Crosby, taunted the forward by making pig noises at him as he walked on by.

The interaction was documented by Penguins reporter Taylor Haase in a now deleted Tweet, one that unsurprisingly caught the reporter off guard. When she spun around and gave Crosby a questioning look, the captain explained himself by hilariously revealing just how much Guentzel likes to eat after every game.

"He eats like two means after every game," revealed Crosby.

It's great to see Crosby showing more and more personality over time and although Haase may have had second thoughts about putting that information out into the world, I think fans will also agree that it's great to see Crosby being himself a little more freely at this stage of his NHL career.
