Crosby's legend continues to grow as he breaks yet another record at the Olympics.
Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has already established himself as a true legend of the sport of hockey, yet somehow his legend continues to grow year after year in spite of the fact that at 38 years old Crosby is getting up there in age as far as professional hockey players are concerned.
This Sunday, Crosby was at it again when he added yet another chapter to his incredible legacy when he became the all-time leading scorer among Canadian National Hockey League players at the Olympic Games. Crosby entered the tournament with 9 points under his belt, 5 shy of all-time leader Jarome Iginla, but he would not only quickly close the gap but eventually snatch the record away from the beloved Iginla.
On Sunday, during a 10-2 blowout of France, Crosby would record the 15th point of his Olympic career and would surpass Iginla for the all-time record.
It was somewhat poetic that it was Crosby who surpassed Iginla, as Canadian fans will remember that it was Iginla who set up Crosby for what was arguably the biggest goal of his career and arguably the biggest goal in Canadian Olympic history.
Crosby's legacy as one of the greatest Canadian athletes of all-time has already been cemented as has his incredible legacy in the NHL, but despite all of that he continues to excel at the highest level and continues to pile on the accolades over time. There's no telling what accolades Crosby will be adding to his resume next, but we will be here to cover all of it.
Stay tuned for more on this incredible player.
