Sidney Crosby takes a shot at the NHL after being ejected on Saturday night.
Crosby speaks his mind.
To say that Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby left Los Angeles a little unhappy after Saturday night's game against the Los Angeles Kings may be the understatement of the year, and we're only in February.
On Saturday night, Crosby was ejected by National Hockey League referee Garrett Rank after what appeared to be something of a tame altercation between Kings defenseman Mikey Anderson and the aforementioned captain of the Pens. Crosby had just been on the receiving end of a cross-check in front of the Kings net, one that was more of a shove than a cross-check, and Anderson was being hauled off to the penalty box when Crosby decided to give him a piece of his mind.
This in turn, would lead to Rank's decision to eject Crosby which you can see in the short clip below:
When asked about the incident following the game Crosby made no effort to hide his displeasure, expressing disbelief at the fact that he had been ejected at all.
"I dunno," said Crosby when asked what happened. "Anderson was going to the box and saying something to me so him and I exchange words and next thing I know I was told I got a 10."
Sometimes though it's the things that you don't say that sting the most, and that was certainly the case on Saturday night when Crosby addressed his ejection. Although he couldn't call out the league or it's officials directly, Crosby still managed to fire a shot in their direction.
"I mean can I really say what I think anyway without..." Crosby trailed off before saying something that would get him fined. "Let's be honest here."
It doesn't take a mind reader to understand he is not very happy with how all of this was handled.
