Signs of a huge return for the Red Wings in warmups.

The Detroit Red Wings may be getting a huge return ahead of a critical game on Saturday.

The Detroit Red Wings may be getting some help at a critical moment in their season.

The Red Wings are playing a pivotal game this afternoon against the Florida Panthers, but things got off to a good start for the Red Wings before the puck was even dropped.

Spotted in warmups ahead of the game was Red Wings star forward Patrick Kane who has been sidelined due to illness as of late. Kane did not play against the Carolina Hurricanes earlier in the week and has reportedly been one of the casualties of a flu bug that is making its way through the Red Wings locker room.

Kane being on the ice for warmups is no guarantee that he will in fact play today, but it is certainly a good sign in that direction. Kane could merely be testing himself to see how he feels before making a final decision regarding whether or not he will play today, but there's no underselling how important getting him back for today's game would be.

The Red Wings now find themselves 2 points back of the Washington Capitals for that all important and final Wild Card spot in the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs, making this very much a must win type of game for them on Saturday.
