It's hard not to feel good when you see special moments like this, and a major shout out goes to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League for making this one a reality.

Sgt. 1st Class Joshua Headd and his wife organized a major surprise for their three young children on Saturday night, the children believed they were at the game to participate in "Star Wars Night" but one of the attendees was their father, who they believed was still two months away from returning home. Sergeant Headd was on the ice among the other costumed attendees disguised as a Jedi Knight, apparently the entire family are huge fans of the series.

While it was an emotional moment for everyone who witnessed the event, Sergeant Headd admitted after the fact that he was overwhelmed with emotion, and who can play him after 10 months away from his family.

“It was a lot more emotional than I thought It was going to be,” Headd said as per Wood8tv.com. “Oh, it felt great. I mean, it’s overwhelming.”

Headd says he will be using the next several weeks to catch up on lost time with his children.

“Just spend time with the kids, for the next week it’s just me and them getting caught up for the last 10 months of life that we missed,” Headd said.

You can watch the beautiful reunion in the video below.
