Some awful news for Oilers ahead of Game 5 this evening

Officiating this post-season has been an absolute joke.

Trevor Connors

This just in, the officials working Game 5 this evening between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers have been named and Oilers fans probably aren't going to like this.

Veteran referees Steve Kozari and Dan O'Rourke will be working the game tonight, again something that should give Oilers fans cause for concern. The Panthers have gone 14-0-1 in their last 15 games under O'Rourke, including 5-0 in the playoffs. The Oilers are 0-5 this postseason when O'Rourke is working.

Yikes...

From Scouting the Refs:

The NHL maintains that its official maintain neutrality, but... well... these records speak for themselves. 14-0-1 in 15 games and 0-5 in five playoff games go against the narrative that referees don't affect the outcome of the game. If the Oilers are going to force a Game 6 back in Edmonton, they'll need to not only beat the Panthers but they'll have to overcome some potentially biased officiating.
