Mike Babcock isn’t the only one in his family getting an NHL job it seems. On Wednesday, the St. Louis Blues hired Michael Babcock as the team’s new skills coach Wednesday and added Mike Weber as an assistant coach.
Babcock is the son of former Anaheim Ducks, Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock, who is rumoured to soon become the next head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets after June 30.
Junior spent last season with the Ottawa Senators, assisting the coaching staff in developing game plans, pre-scouting, and with on-ice skill development.
He gained experienced learning from his own father as he worked on the coaching staff of the University of Saskatchewan with him in past seasons.
The Babcock family will have a lot to celebrate this summer ahead of the 2023-24 season in the NHL.
