The Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins are putting on an early-season show this evening, even if the results don't matter.
The Capitals and Bruins, of course, are still in pre-season action but the nearly complete NHL rosters are playing for keeps this evening. With just one pre-season game left on the schedule for the Bruins and two left for the Capitals, both teams have elected to dress veteran-heavy lineups tonight. Of course, that's not to say that either team's lineup is iron clad. There are some minor league call-ups and rookies on both sides of the ice, so you just know that there will be scoring opportunities out there for the more veteran players.
Enter: Sonny Milano.
The 27 year old forward signed a three year extension with the Capitals last season and looks ready to earn every penny. Milano has made the highlight reels a couple times already this pre-season but he saved his best for this evening.
Check out Milano's absolutely filthy goal from the first period of tonight's game:
That's such a sick little chip up on the backhand.
The best part though might be the awareness to stick with the puck after making a bad pass and then to get the puck quickly to the backhand for that crazy tuck. Absolute beauty.
