This just in, veteran NHL forward Troy Brouwer has signed a professional tryout (PTO) contract with the Florida Panthers, the team he played with just last season.

The 34 year old Brouwer played 75 games with the Panthers last season and put up 12 goals and 21 assists. Prior to that, Brouwer spent two seasons with the Calgary Flames, but was bought out of his four-year contract last offseason.

The Vancouver, BC native has also played for the St. Louis Blues, Washington Capitals and won a Stanley Cup championship with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010.

He has amassed 181 goals and 588 points in 838 career NHL games.
