Stanley Cup Parade gets the best of Olli Maatta

Hopefully he’ll be sobered up in time for the 2017-18 season

Today’s Stanley Cup parade in downtown Pittsburgh drew crowds in excess of 650,000, making it the largest Stanley Cup parade in the city’s history. And that’s saying something given that the franchise has hosted the party on five occasions. Today’s festivities were an event that won’t soon be forgotten…unless you happen to be Pens defenseman Olli Maatta, then there’s a good chance you’ll forget the entire event completely.

Maatta, like the most of his teammates, had an adult beverage in his hand for most of the festivities, but one Reddit user (sandwiches18) managed to grab a photo of Maatta drying out on his high-rise balcony after the event.

That’s what it takes to be an Stanley Cup champion, ladies and gentlemen. You gotta know when to push yourself and know when to give yourself a breather. Hey, we’ve all been there. You have a few too many cold ones and you just gotta lie down. There’s no shame in getting a little shut eye after a particularly rowdy outing, especially when the city is throwing a parade in your honor.
