This just in, the Colorado Avalanche have signed free agent forward Joel Kiviranta to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
Kiviranta played 70 games for the Dallas Stars last season, putting up eight goals and nine points.
Kiviranta is arguably most known for his heroic performance for the Dallas Stars in the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, scoring a hat trick including the game winner in a Game 7 victory over the... you guessed it... Colorado Avalanche.
Check it out:
Kiviranta emerged as a fan favorite thanks to his performance on that quiet September evening, but he was never able to match that level of play during his time in Dallas. He'll now get a second chance at an NHL career with the Avs.
