Dallas Stars head coach Jim Montgomery announced this morning that star winger Alexander Radulov will be a healthy scratch for tonight’s crucial game against the New York Rangers.

Radulov was reportedly late for practice this morning and, as a result of violating the team’s internal policies, he’ll be forced to sit out tonight’s game.

The Stars are currently holding down a Wild Card spot in the NHL’s Western Conference, but with the Arizona Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche just two and three points back respectively, this is a GUTSY move from Montgomery.

Radulov is in the midst of another fantastic season with the Stars with 17 goals and 51 points in 54 games. His offence is absolutely critical to this team’s success, so taking him out of the lineup is no trivial matter.

Radulov, who is no stranger to team-imposed sanctions, has refused to comment on this matter.
