The Dallas Stars continued to add to their offense on Tuesday, signing restricted free agent Gemel Smith to a brand new contract.

While the financial details of the contract have not been disclosed at this time, the Dallas Stars did reveal in an official announcement via their website that it will be a one-year contract for Smith. Furthermore the Stars also revealed that this will be a two-way deal.

The 23-year-old center got his first crack at the National Hockey League this past season, appearing in 17 regular season games for the Stars collecting 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points over that stretch.

He also put up a respectable plus minus rating of -1, not bad given the struggles the team had last season. It appears that those performances were enough to earn him at least one more year in the Stars organization.
