The Dallas Stars are staying proactive in the tight race for a playoff spot in the Western Conference, currently sitting in the first Wild Card spot with 80 points with the Arizona Coyotes and Minnesota Wild breathing down their neck.

Since every single point matters, Stars head coach Jim Montgomery is looking at ways of making his lineup better and faster. Especially ahead of tonight’s contest against the younger Florida Panthers, who have enjoyed playing trouble makers for clubs fighting for a spot in the postseason.

However, Montgomery will sure get some negative comments on his decision to make veteran forward Jason Spezza a healthy scratch for tonight’s game, adding that he wanted “fresh legs” against the Panthers.

Sure, he hasn’t recorded a point since March 7th against the Colorado Avalanche, but fans react to his big salary of $7,5 millions sitting in the press box.

However, anther forward draw into the action. Blake Comeau will return following just one contest out of action due to his undisclosed issue. The winger is bogged down in a 16-game goal drought, during which he tallied seven helpers, 20 shots and 38 hits.

When Montgomery made forward Alexander Radulov a healthy scratch earlier this month as he was late to a team meeting, the Russian player came back with a vengeance and recorded a hat trick against the Avalanche.

Let's hope the same happens to Spezza once he gets back into the lineup...
