The Edmonton Oilers came into the season with significant concerns about their goaltending situation and there has been perhaps no game this season that has brought those concerns to the forefront more than Saturday night's game against the Colorado Avalanche.

Unfortunately it was once again goaltender Stuart Skinner who found himself at the center of controversy, with Skinner giving up 4 goals during his short stay in Saturday night's game. Things turned ugly early for Skinner and the Oilers with Avalanche star defenseman Cale Makar picking Skinner apart.

And again.

Skinner would give up a third goal in the first period with Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch showing faith in his starting netminder and leaving Skinner in even after giving up 3.

The fourth goal of the game would come at the start of the game's second period and, although it initially appeared as though Knoblauch would once again leave Skinner in, backup goaltender Calvin Pickard would finally take over for Skinner after the mercy pull.

Skinner would spend just 27 minutes and 28 seconds on the ice, making just 9 saves in total, and giving up the 4 goals for an abysmal save percentage of .692 on the evening.

This was the fourth time that Skinner was pulled this season already, a very concerning sign to be sure for the Edmonton Oilers.
