Stunning news on Panthers’ attendance this season!

Remember, they are the 2024 Stanley Cup champions.

Chris Gosselin

The Florida Panthers clinched a playoff spot and made it all the way to the end, hoisting the Stanley Cup on home ice following a Game 7 win against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night.

At the start of the postseason in the first two rounds of the playoffs, against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins, the Panthers put up impressive attendance numbers. Capacity at Amerant Bank Arena for ice hockey is 19,250 and was the highest for any of the buildings being used in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year.

Hockey Reference reports that for the first time in their history, the Florida Panthers surpassed one million fans in attendance for a season, when you had the attendance total of the regular calendar 763,931 and the 256,168 fans attending during the postseason.

For several seasons now, jokes have been made about the Panthers, their market near the sunny beaches and how Florida doesn’t deserve a team when places like Quebec City and Atlanta don’t have one.

However, with these impressive numbers and fans celebrating all summer the 2024 championship, I don’t think we will hear as many jokes in seasons to come about the attendance in Florida.
