The Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings kicked off the NHL's Global Series in Stockholm, Sweden today with a very entertaining game.

The Sens opened up an enormous four goal lead, only to see it evaporate with four straight from the Red Wings in the 2d period. It was a game that featured lots of offence from both sides and it ended with an absolute beauty from Sens star Tim Stutzle in overtime.

Check out Stutzle going with the home run swing for a walk off in the upper deck to claim victory for the Sens:

Batter up!

The goal was Stutzle's 5th of the season, giving him 21 points in his first 15 games to start the campaign. The 21 year old German looks primed to make huge step this season and will be relied upon to pile up the points if the Senators are going to taking the next step as a team.

Earlier in the game it looked like the Red Wings may have lost the services of captain Dylan after he was shaken up and had to be helped off of the ice. The captain fell awkwardly to the ice after taking a defensive zone face-off against Brady Tkachuk and had to be helped off the ice.

Thankfully, Larkin returned shortly after and remained in action for the duration of the game. No report from the Red Wings yet on his status, but you have to assume that he'll be just fine if he was able to finish things off.

Both the Senators and Red Wings have a game apiece left in Sweden with the Red Wings taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow night and the Senators taking on the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. The NHL's Global Series Sweden 2023 is meant to help bolster interest in the league in Sweden and it features the likes of Swedish players like William Nylander, John Klingberg, Anton Forsberg, Erik Branstrom, Lucas Ramond, Joel Eriksson Ek, Marcus Johansson, Jonas Brodin and Filip Gustavsson.
