Oh man, it’s ON, baby!

Recently acquired defenseman P.K. Subban introduced himself to New Jersey Devils fans earlier today at a press conference from the Prudential Center and had some choice words for his former team the Nashville Predators.

Subban, of course, spent the past three seasons with the Preds but was shipped to the Devils in exchange for Steven Santini, Jeremy Davies and two 2nd round draft picks on the second day of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Most fans and analysts described the deal as little more than a salary dump for the cap-strapped Predators who cleared $9 million off the books by shipping out the 30-year-old Subban.

While Subban has said nothing but nice things about Nashville since the trade, he couldn’t help himself from throwing a jab at his former team for their decision to hang regular season championship trophies in the rafters at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

When asked what makes him excited to play in New Jersey, Subban had this tongue-in-cheek reply:

“Look up at the rafters, what do you see? I see some banners, some ‘real’ banners…”

This, of course, is a jab at the Preds for their relatively meaningless President’s Trophy and Regular Season Western Conference Championship banners.

Remember these:

Yeah… I think Subban’s cutting sense of humor will endure him to Jersey fans juuuuuust fine.
