Subban to end up in Toronto in major rumoured trade!

It feels like defenseman P.K. Subban has come to terms with this. Even since the Nashville Predators postseason came to a surprising end when they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Dallas Stars, there has been chatter that major changes will be coming to Music City.

Subban, who has spent the past three seasons in Nashville since being traded by the Montreal Canadiens, could be traded once again as the Preds face tough questions on their blue line.

Being the highest paid player on the roster, Subban needed to be better and now, he has become the natural target considering his expensive contract and wasn’t drafted and developed by the Predators.

“If I’m talking facts, I’m the highest paid player on this team,” Subban told reporters on Wednesday. “With that comes responsibility. Just like everybody else, the responsibility is on me to take the fact that we didn’t win the first round; we didn’t accomplish what we wanted to accomplish.”

However, Matt Larkin of The Hockey News believes the Toronto Maple Leafs could benefit from this. After also getting eliminated in the first round, it has become clear that Toronto needs to upgrade their blue line. On their end, the Predators need to shore up an offense that relied too much on the top line of Filip Forsberg, Ryan Johansen, and Viktor Arvidsson.

Larkin wonders: Nylander for Subban or Hamilton, anyone?

While talks have taken place between the Leafs and the Carolina Hurricanes earlier this season about William Nylander, it seems almost impossible that the Canes would agree to part ways with defenseman Dougie Hamilton.

However, the Leafs could get a positive answer from the Predators, they who are looking to part ways with Subban in order to keep captain Roman Josi.

Do you like the idea of this deal? Do you think GM David Poile will manage another blockbuster deal during his tenure in Nashville?
