Superstar defenseman leaves game after taking shot to the knee

Any amount of games missed by Shea Weber will really hurt the Montreal Canadiens.

During the second period tonight against the Washington Captials, he took a hard slapshot from Dmitry Orlov to the inside of his right knee. Weber right away looked hurt and hobbled his way to the bench. He stayed on the bench for a few minutes trying to shake off the pain but he then ended up leaving the game.

The Habs defense have been struggling a bit as of late, leaving Carey Price often all by himself. So if this injury causes Weber to miss any games, Montreal will be in trouble.

UPDATE: Weber returned to the game for the beginning of the 3rd period.
