Suspension coming for the Golden Knights after Game 2 overtime loss!
BREAKING NEWS : all the details available below:
After a controversial overtime won by the Oilers in Game 2 of the second round series against the Golden Knights, Vegas is now facing a suspension.
It has just been announced that Nicolas Roy will have a hearing tonight for cross-checking Trent Frederic in the mouth.
In sudden death overtime on Thursday night, Roy almost took Frederic’s head off as he attempt to bunt away a puck in the air. He was given major cross-checking penalty, and now faces suspension as he has been called for a hearing.
This is another tough blow for Vegas, who called out Oilers’ forward Viktor Arvidsson for a controversial play in the overtime.
Just minutes prior to the overtime winner, a battle for a loose puck between Arvidsson and Golden Knights’ Brayden McNabb resulted in the Vegas defenseman crashing awkwardly into the boards, forcing him to leave the game.
No penalty was called on the play, and the Golden Knights are furious about it, especially since the game-winner from Edmonton came moments later…
And there will be no hearing for Arvidsson either.
