Boston Bruins A.J. Greer will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday and many expect him to get suspended.
Greer is facing discipline for cross-checking against Montreal Canadiens forward Mike Hoffman on Thursday.
The incident took place during a face-off in front of the Bruins bench during the first period of Boston’s 4-2 win. Greer received a major penalty for cross-checking and a game misconduct.
Hoffman finished the game for Montreal despite being helped by a team trainer because he was bleeding.
We should find out later today what the decision is from the NHL Department of Player Safety. The Bruins are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they host the Tampa Bay Lightning in Boston.
