The Edmonton Oilers could have to play Game 5 of their second round series against the Vegas Golden Knights without top defenseman Darnell Nurse.
That’s because Nurse, who instigated a fight with Nicolas Hague, could have to pay for wanting to drop the gloves in the last five minutes of a playoff contest.
As many insiders pointed out, Nurse could be subject to suspension, which would come with a 10K fine for head coach Jay Woodcroft. However, as Elliotte Friedman explained right after the Oilers’ 4-1 victory to even the series at 2-2, it could be reviewed.
But that’s quite a risk to take, don’t you think?
It was quite a hectic end of the game for both the Oilers and Golden Knights. Seven misconducts were handed out in the last eight minutes of the game, one involving Alex Pietrangelo, who brutally slashed Leon Draisaitl and could too face a suspension.
