The young Columbus Blue Jackets forward has been nothing short of a star during the NHL's preseason so far but on Saturday night he was on the receiving end of something of a warning shot from an NHL veteran.
During the second period of a preseason meeting between Fantilli's Blue Jackets and the Washington Capitals, Fantilli was absolutely leveled by a monstrous hit from capitals forward T.J. Oshie.
Fantilli briefly lost control of the puck and was fishing around for it, but that momentary distraction was all the experienced veteran needed to make the rookie pay. The impact was massive and Fantilli's stick was sent flying through the air as the impact reverberated through his body before sending him crashing to the ice.
To the rookie's credit, he got right back to his feet and did his best to play it off after absorbing a big impact along the boards.
