Talented D-man Clague lands on waivers and many predict he’ll get claimed
This is a golden opportunity for many teams out there:

On Friday afternoon, the Los Angeles Kings placed young defenseman Kale Clague on waivers.
The move has gotten rival teams shifting their attention to LA seeing that the talented blue liner could be claimed by one of many clubs.
The 51st overall draft selection in 2016 is an under-radar asset, but his development has been impressive especially when he was called up in November and ended up taking over for injured Drew Doughty on the power-play. He managed to tally five assists during his 11-game stint, while averaging 17:49 per game.
Let’s point out that the Montreal Canadiens are dealing with a full infirmary, especially on the back end, and could set their eyes on Clague. That could be new executive vice president of hockey operations Jeff Gorton’s first move in Montreal. He could definitely boots the power-play there…
The New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers could also be interested in claiming Clague amongst others. It will get interesting before tomorrow’s deadline.
Clague’s performed well at the minor-league level in recent seasons as well, including four assists in five games with the AHL’s Ontario Reign this year, but has yet been able to play his way into a full-time NHL role. There’s likely still a bright future ahead for the 23-year-old.
The question is where?
