Tanner Jeannot takes out Brock Boeser with an open ice headshot
Boeser has left the game and Jeannot has been assessed a match penalty.
UPDATE: Boeser will not return this game.
Oft-injured Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser may have just suffered yet another serious injury in his young career.
The Canucks forward got absolutely blown up by Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Jeannot with a clear cut open ice headshot that earned Jeannot a 5 minute major and a game misconduct penalty.
Here's the hit in question:
The main point of contact is clearly Jeannot's shoulder on Boeser's head. That's a text-book headshot that will likely earn Jeannot a phone call with NHL Player Safety.
As for Boeser, he appeared shaken on the play and stayed down on the ice until Canucks trainers helped him off the ice. He has left the game and has not yet returned.
