Target of Tom Wilson's brutal taunt revealed on Sunday.
Tom Wilson was only taunting one player, and now we know who it was.
By now just about every hockey fan has seen the hilarious clips that have circulated online of Washington Capitals enforcer Tom Wilson taunting the Montreal Canadiens but, just in case you missed it, here it is:
Wilson appeared to call out the Montreal Canadiens as a bunch of crybabies during the course of Game 3 of their opening round series in the Stanley Cup playoffs but the veteran enforcer would later clarify that his taunts were only directed at a single player. Wilson however refused to tell reporters who the player that he was targeting with the taunt was when he was asked to elaborate after the game.
"I wasn’t doing it to their whole team, it was for one guy—I’m not going to say who but he knows who it was. Obviously the camera was right on me, so I guess I should probably just shut up sometimes.”
Well we now know who Wilson was directing his comments at thanks to a reverse angle that was shared during the broadcast of Game 4. From the reverse angle we can clearly see that the player being taunted is none other than former first overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky, who is highlighted in the photo below:
Slafkovsky didn't seem happy at all about the taunt and gave it right back to Wilson which you can see in the video below:
Now that you know who the taunt was directed at, does it change your perception of this event? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
