Tavares about to have an ELITE winger by his side?!
Keystone Press

Rumors have John Tavares leaving the New-York Islanders when his contract comes to term. Why wouldn't he? So far in his career, he had little to no support on his wing. Tavares' talent made Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau a 50-points producer twice and Matt Moulson a 3-times 30-goals scorer . Both of these players struggled as soon as they left Tavares' wing.

According to Jim Matheson, the Islanders would be inquiring about Matt Duchene's availability and suggests the Isles could give as much as Travis Hamonic and either Ryan Strome or a prospect like Michael Dal Colle.

This deal could make sens as the Av's are struggling and desperately in need of a top-pair defenseman. Need i remind you the cost of a good right-handed defenseman? Hmm hmm, Hall vs Larsson.

Acquiring Duchene could be what keeps John Tavares in New-York as he for sure, wants to win a Stanley Cup ring. They have some depth on the blue-line and their system is still filled with Matthew Barzal, Josh Ho-Sang, Ryan Pulock and recently promoted Anthony Beauvillier.
